Introdution
The system of medical practice which treats disease by the use of remedies which produce effects different from those produced by the disease under treatment. MDs practice allopathic medicine. Also called Conventional medicine.
The term "allopathy" was coined in 1842 by C.F.S. Hahnemann to designate the usual practice of medicine (allopathy) as opposed to homeopathy, the system of therapy that he founded based on the concept that disease can be treated with drugs (in minute doses) thought capable of producing the same symptoms in healthy people as the disease itself.
It is a major branch of medical science and allopathic medicines are widely used for majority of diseases because of its fast action and effectiveness for immediate cure. Doctors have always enjoyed a prominent position in the society and it is a well respected profession worldwide. There are several specializations also such as oncology, anesthesiology, general medicine, general pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, psychiatry, ENT, endocrinology, and surgery.
1. Anesthesiologists: They are responsible for administering anesthesia to the patients during surgery and keep continuous monitoring of the patient’s pulse rate, body temperature, blood pressure, breathing etc during surgery.
2. General practitioner: They are general physicians and assess and treat a wide range of diseases and refer patients with more serious conditions to specialists.
3. Pediatrician: They are responsible for the care and treatment of infants and children.
4. Obstetricians and gynecologists: They are responsible for providing medical advice and treatment for women during pregnancy and delivery. They also take care of infertility problems and the problems related to the entire reproductive system.
5. Psychiatrists: They specialize in the area of mental health.
6. Surgeons: They specialize in the treatment of diseases through surgical procedures.
7. Orthopedics: They provide care and treatment of the musculoskeletal system.
8. Neurology: They specialize in the treatment of the brain and nervous system
9. Cardiology: They specialize in heart diseases.
10.Otolaryngology: They provide treatment of the ear, nose, and throat
They are many more branches of specializations in allopathic medicines such as dermatology, cosmetology, plastic surgery, reproductive surgery etc.

Eligibility-
The qualification required for entrance is 10+2 or equivalent with Science subjects.
