Introduction
It is a traditional healing system prevalent in the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and neighboring countries, according to which the body comprises four basic elements—earth, air, water, and fire— and four humors—blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. An equilibrium in the humors indicates good health while a disturbance in this equilibrium results in disease.
